22 Fillmore Adds Passenger Capacity While Preserving Overnight Service Through Western Addition

WESTERN ADDITION, San Francisco — Western Addition riders on the 22 Fillmore have seen transit service adjustments since August 29, 2026, aimed at reducing crowding and improving reliability.

SFMTA says buses on selected busy 22 Fillmore trips gained capacity, while the overnight Owl schedule was adjusted to reflect more realistic running times. Owl service continues from midnight until 5 a.m. at planned 30-minute intervals. The route connects the Western Addition with the Marina, Mission, Potrero Hill and Mission Bay, including connections near Fillmore and McAllister streets.

Added capacity on crowded trips is not a promise that a bus will arrive every 30 minutes during the day or that every journey has the same vehicle size. Daytime frequency differs by time of day and by weekday or weekend, and actual arrival times can be affected by traffic.

Residents should use SFMTA’s current 22 Fillmore route page and live arrival information to confirm their stop, direction and latest service changes, particularly when connecting to medical visits or late work shifts.
